How to prep your hair
The instructions given to patients are to not put any products in the hair. However, these are the instructions that we suggest for those with textured hair the night before getting and EEG test. Make sure to give yourself ample time prior to the test for hair to properly dry.
Shampoo and condition the hair.
Towel dry hair.
Apply leave-in conditioner and light oil to the hair. Make sure to focus the products on the hair strands rather than the scalp. The cleaner the scalp the better for testing. Examples of light oils include argan, grapeseed, jojoba, rosehip seed, and sweet almond oil.
Keep hair stretched and detangled by placing it into twists, braids, flat twists, cornrows, or a similar style. For easier access to the scalp put hair into braids or twists. Hair can be blow dried if preferred, heat protectant may be used.
What to Bring
Bring a hat or headscarf, the state of your hair after the test will be leave your hair in a messy state.
